VM vs BM servers

What's the difference between a VM and a Baremetal server?

A Baremetal server is a dedicated physical machine, and nothing is shared. A VM is an isolated environment on hardware shared with other users.

A Baremetal (BM) server is a dedicated physical machine assigned only to you, while a Virtual Machine (VM) is an isolated environment on shared hardware.

With Baremetal you get all the machine’s resources, like your own computer at home but hosted in a data center with enterprise-grade performance. A VM gives you your own environment, but the physical CPU, RAM and storage are shared among several users.

VMs are delivered instantly. Baremetal servers are set up and tested by hand, so they take longer to deliver.
